According to Article [1] of the Law on Radio Waves of Mongolia, "Radio waves generated within the territory of Mongolia and those included in the National Radio Frequency Allocation Table shall be the property of the State of Mongolia."
Radio frequencies are classified based on their purpose of use into special-purpose frequencies and public-purpose frequencies.
- Special-purpose frequency bands are allocated for national defense, public safety, and the maintenance of public order.
- Public-purpose frequency bands are allocated for use by legal entities, organizations, and individuals for commercial or civilian purposes.
Entities and individuals operating in accordance with the laws of Mongolia may utilize public-purpose frequency bands upon obtaining a license and a spectrum authorization certificate from the Communications Regulatory Commission, and must be duly registered as prescribed by applicable legislation.
